It’s been a minute – hoping to be back for a few.
What’s new you ask? A newly booked trip to Dubai. This emirate with it’s blend of Arabic culture, sky reaching architecture, sizzling heat and clash between the New and Old world has long been on the top of my travel bucket list. Cannot wait to explore this Jewel of the Desert. Don’t hesitate to drop a few recommendations should you know a thing or two worthy of sharing:)
Everyday snippets from the last week or so. Coffee and good company, Dr. Phil in bed, Chanel dreams between patients, Ghana throwback, Bollywood comfy pants, PhD studying in the sun (not my cigs BTW), and random posing.
Next buy. I’ve had my eyes on these customized Louis V items for a while now, and have been putting away a few coins to put forth in investment. Which to choose which to choose. Actually I’ve already decided on the…

Monday again – is it just me or is time even more fleeting than usual? All the more reason to make the best of every day – love your loved ones, find peace of mind, travel to broaden your horizon, dress to impress, and keep a solid watch on your wrist to remind you just how transitory time really is.

… The Galapagos Islands.
A collection of volcanic islands sprayed across the Pacific Ocean, renowned for the many endemic species and absolutely breathtaking landscape both above and under water, making this a diving hot-spot. Charles Darwin himself stopped by in the 1830ies; his observations and collections from this family of islands contributed to his theory of evolution by natural selection, and later earned one of the islands the honor of his name (Darwin Island). Unique species include land iguanas, the Galapagos tortoise, sea cucumbers (?), the blue-footed booby, sea lions, and many many more.
Feeling wobbly, I’m spending today at home with a running nose buried in my newest companion; one helluva paeds book. Just on the other side of my window the sky is a faint blue, birds are chirping, and buildings are bathed in the weakest of sunlights – the kind that comes with the early promise of spring ❤
Today I’m craving bright travel bags, a room with a (proper!) view, a pet elephant, and a pool – preferably furnished.
Today I am commencing a week that entails submitting my thesis (hooray), studying for and taking an ob gyn exam. Needless to say I need a colorful injection of hope, peace, and determination to get this Monday off the ground. A good week to you all, whatever trials it may hold.
… Cairo.
For as long as I can remember, Egypt has enchanted me with it’s magnificent history, mysterious mythology, and bewildering pyramids. I think it all started when I as a kid read a detective story about a young archeologist discovering the secrets of a hidden tomb in the dusty desert, and was further fueled by projects at school on the pharaohs, the hieroglyphs, and the meticulous mummification process. What I will have to check out when I go (from the top): the pyramids, the sphinx, downtown Cairo, the Nile on a felucca, Ibn Tulun mosque, Khan el-Khalili bazaar, Cairo tower, city skyline, mosque of Sultan Hassan. And oh so much more.
